Wow. This was quite possibly the best spring break of my life. The only one that could possibly compare was the one that I had in sixth grade, when all the neighbor kids engaged in an all-out, all-week Nerf war. That was a good break. Really good. But this one was good too.
I’ve written in previous entries about the decisions that I feel are weighing upon me. I’ve written about the confusion and the anxiety and the stress and whatnot. In a whirlwind tour of the city I love, accompanied by the people I love, with a visit to a special Place I love, I was able to wash all that apprehension and angst away, and was able to see, for the first time in a long while, where I’m going.
Good times. Rather than bog you down with all the details , I’ve prepared a little photo album for you all to enjoy. If you saw me at all during last week, you undoubtedly saw me snapping pictures. I’ve put some of the good ones in the album, and saved the crappy ones for myself. Apologies for the quality. This is the first time that I’ve really used the camera, so I’m still getting used to it, you see.
To accompany your viewing, I suggest a special playlist. You see, as Richard and I drove up to Chicago, drove around the city, and finally, drove back to Kansas, a special ‘Spring Break Playlist’ was created. We had few CDs with us, and no fancy-schmancy iPod, so we were confined to the radio. This playlist consists of songs that, a) were played over and over on the radio, and became, by default, part of the playlist, b) were songs that we connected with in that special way that made leaving them off the list seem cruel and wrong, c) were songs that some of us jammed out together roughly and incoherently, d) were songs that we think are hilarious but have something to say about our trip or experience. So, for you Limewire and Kazaa users, steal these now. For you iTunes users, buy these now. For those of you with ridiculously extensive musical libraries, get out your discs.
RICHARD AND ANDREW’S SPRING BREAK 2005 PLAYLIST:
1. “E-Pro” - Beck
2. “Duality” - Slipknot
3. “Yeah” - Usher, Lil Jon and Ludacris
4. “Mr. Brightside” - The Killers

Although the picture of me giggling did not make me giggle.
Javad wrote that on Mar 29 05 at 12:31 pmGreat photo album! Although I have to say I stayed away from the recommended playlist, which allowed my photo album scrolling experience to be unhindered by me having to continuously shield my eardrums from being pierced by sounds of pop music.
Briana wrote that on Mar 29 05 at 12:49 pmI loved it! Haven’t downloaded the songs yet, but maybe i’ll download them and then listen to the playlist and look at the photos again while putting of a research paper or two. I think my favorite part was all the witty titles and i especially loved Richard the performance artist. Makes me a little concerned about my new home though….lol

Jessica wrote that on Mar 30 05 at 2:54 pmI really enjoyed looking through your trip album…enjoyed it I did…except for that shop of Sholeh looking suspicious. It’s not that I was bothered by her suspiciousness. No…I was bothered by something else in the photo - me, stuffing my face!
Come on, man! But, EVEN with that against you, I got nothin but love:)
Andrew wrote that on Mar 30 05 at 2:58 pmOh man. I’m so sorry, Jessica. Dude. I didn’t know…I can totally take that photo down, if you wish. Totally. Give me the word.
Jess wrote that on Mar 30 05 at 3:23 pmNaw, I think my self-conciousness is at a place where it’s really not that big of a deal to me if people see me stuffing my face…I just wanted to give you a hard time:)
Sholeh wrote that on Mar 30 05 at 8:11 pmHEY! So you’ll take down a picture if Jessica requests, but laugh at me when I cringe at a highly unflattering picture?! MEANIE!
